Stitches of Tibet
TWA recognizes a need to offer vocational training
opportunities to young women so that they can become
economically self-sufficient. In October of 1995,
TWA established a tailoring and handicraft initiative
in Dharamsala to provide training to unskilled and
economically disadvantaged Tibetan women, many of whom
escaped from Tibet where educational and employment
opportunities for women are minimal.

Future Projects
TWA has purchased two plots of land in McLeod Ganj, Dharamsala. Our predecessors envisioned to construct a complex that will offer a variety of women and community centered programming under one roof. However, with passage of time, these plots seem to have shrunk in size due to encroachment from all sides as and when our neighbors developed their land. Before any further shrinkage takes place, we would like to make a concerted effort to realize the dreams of our organization.
