Tibetan Women's Association Makes International Presence
March 26-April 6, 2007 Recognizing the impact that international pressure holds on Chinese Government's policies, representatives of Tibetan Women's Association traveled extensively to garner further attention towards the Tibetan struggle for freedom, especially focusing on the lack of rights of Tibetan women in Tibet.
Tsering Deckyi, TWA's International Public Relations Officer, attended the 4th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council held in Geneva, Switzerland. TWA's critical areas of concern were Education, Employment, Health, Reproductive Rights and Women in Prison in Tibet.
Dr. B. Tsering, TWA's President, went on a speaking tour to various colleges in Northeast region of the United States. B. Tsering’s key focus of the presentation is on Violation of Reproductive Rights of Tibetan Women in Tibet.
