Petition: Tenzin Delek Rinpoche

Following is the full text of the Tenzin Delek Rinpoche petition that will be sent:

Dear Minister Li Zhaoxing,

Tenzin Delek Rinpoche, a highly respected Tibetan Buddhist leader, was sentenced to death by the Chinese government on December 2, 2002, for his alleged involvement in bombings in eastern Tibet. His death sentence was commuted to life imprisonment on January 26, 2005, due to strong international pressure and a worldwide campaign on Tenzin Delek Rinpoche's behalf. No credible evidence linking him to this crime has been released publicly, nor did he receive a fair trial. On January 26, 2003, the Sichuan Provincial Court rejected Tenzin Delek Rinpoche's appeal and Lobsang Dhondup was executed the same day.

It is widely believed that Tenzin Delek Rinpoche is being targeted for his support of the Dalai Lama and his activities promoting Tibetan language, religion and culture. His treatment is an example of the Chinese government's ruthless crackdown on Tibetans' freedom of speech and expression.

Therefore, we strongly urge you to call for the immediate release of Tenzin Delek Rinpoche.

Yours Sincerely,
(Your name goes here!)
